Digby Fairweather to host jazz tours

BRITISH JAZZ STAR Digby Fairweather (Digby’s Half Dozen, The Great British Jazz Band) will host Roots of Rhythm Travel’s tours to the two of Europe’s best jazz festivals this summer. They are the 18th New Orleans Jazz Festival in Ascona, Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, Holland.

The New Orleans Jazz Festival in Ascona (3-7 July) is staged on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italian-speaking Switzerland. This year’s festival will celebrate the music of guitar virtuoso Eddie Lang and will feature some of the world’s greatest exponents of New Orleans-style jazz.

Roots of Rhythm Travel’s tour includes: four-star lake-side accommodation plus breakfast in Locarno; free shuttle to festival venues (5 mins from hotel); festival admission; and host Digby Fairweather. The tour price is £450 per person based on two sharing. International travel is extra but can be arranged through Roots of Rhythm Travel. Flights and transfers from London start from £169.

The North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague (12-15 July) is one of the world’s biggest, attracting international stars from a diverse range of jazz and jazz-related genres. This year’s line-up will be announced in May. Roots of Rhythm Travel’s tour includes: luxury coach travel from London and Folkestone to historic Delft; three-star accommodation plus breakfast in Delft; free shuttle to festival venue (25 mins from hotel); festival admission; and host Digby Fairweather. The tour price is £349 per person based on two sharing.
